On the Cedar CP3 Rugged Smartphone, photos dazzle

rugged smartphone photographyOne part is the powerful processor, one part is the dynamic camera, and one part is being on a 10,000-foot alpine peak at just the right time. That is the recipe for a good photo, or at least the photo above.

If you take the Cedar CP3 Rugged Smartphone onto a nearby alpine peak, you will have all you need to impress your friends and family online – or at the very least, you will remember just how great it all looked in the moment.

Plus, you actually do not need an alpine peak. The CP3, the most capable rugged smartphone on the market for data collection and communication, produces stunning photos at work and at home.

Inside the Cedar CP3 Rugged Smartphone

“The Cedar CP3 combines field-tested ruggedness with everyday functionality,” said Cody Draper, Juniper Systems’ Cedar product manager. “It’s a very serious data collector and asset manager at work, and at home it’s a gateway to apps, photos, and family. The transition between work and play is seamless. We think that’s a huge win for field professionals.”

Another win for field professionals is the array of camera tools and functions within the built-in camera application. You can choose to shoot a panorama, turn on face detection or turn on HDR. It includes a slew of filters, night photo mode, and the ability to toggle between image file sizes.

Other applications like Open Camera on the Google Play store prop up the CP3’s powerful camera hardware with additional functionality. Using Open Camera, you can access a bevy of features: record 4K Ultra HD video, adjust exposure and ISO, digitally zoom, and adjust photo resolution – among other things.

Here’s how to record video in 4K Ultra HD on the Cedar CP3 Rugged Smartphone

In the built-in camera app, select the video recording option. In the top right-hand corner, select the settings cog. Once you are in the settings menu, select Video quality. This menu offers five distinct options. Select 4K UHD for ultra-high definition videos on your CP3.
