2023 Year in Review

With the start of a new year, let us reflect on the highlights of 2023. The Juniper team had many reasons to celebrate. From the company’s pearl anniversary, new ratings for our 10-inch rugged tablet, to new gains from our GNSS receiver, it was a year to remember. Let’s take a look.

Juniper® Systems Turns 30

In April, we celebrated 30 years of serving our partners and customers with the best-rugged data collection devices and world-class customer service. As we commemorated this achievement, we reflected on our time together as a company. The company’s origins stemmed from agriculture research, then expanded to handhelds and weigh systems for our HarvestMaster™ brand, which then evolved to other industries. Juniper Systems grew into a global company, reaching a variety of industries including natural resources, utilities and public services, geospatial, and industrial settings. Juniper has introduced dozens of rugged field data collectors over time including the Allegro™ and Archer™ field computers, Mesa® rugged tablets, and Geode™ GPS receivers. It is an honor to be around this long and reflect on how far we’ve come.

Mesa® Pro Acquires IP68 Rating

At the end of summer, our Mesa Pro 10-inch rugged tablet received an IP68 rating to protect against dust, sand, rocks, and liquid such as drips, sprays, and submersion. It is no small feat, and this accomplishment makes the Mesa Pro the first of its kind in a rugged tablet with active cooling. The Mesa Pro is rated as capable of submersion at one meter for 45 minutes, making it the most robust rugged tablet on the market. It is ideal for industries in rough terrain and environments such as construction, utility mapping, field service, and mining. With an 11th generation Intel® Core™ processor, sunlight-readable display, and options to customize for any use case, this tablet is ready to work with you wherever you go.

Geode™ Gains RTK Feature

Towards the end of the year, we upgraded our Geode GNS3M GNSS Receiver to support RTK. This means the Geode GNS3 went from picking up sub-meter, sub-foot, and decimeter accuracy at any given destination, to now collecting centimeter accuracy as well. This new addition allows users to use their GNSS receiver to meet certain standards or accuracy requirements on the job such as the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 38-22 AND 75-22 publications for GNSS accuracy. Easily collect real-time GNSS data with professional-grade mapping accuracies with the optional RTK feature.

Looking Ahead

As we gear up for opportunities in the new year, let us look at what is ahead. We are starting the year with a bang with the January release of the Mesa 4 Rugged Tablet. This all-new rugged device brings increased performance, faster storage, and an overall more efficient device when compared to the Mesa 3. With a superior CPU performance (up to three times faster than the Mesa 3), this rugged tablet provides a seamless user experience. We look forward to sharing it with you soon. We are excited to see more opportunities and connections with our partners this year.
