Our team had an exciting and productive tradeshow season with two standout events: MINExchange in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the PDAC mining conference in Toronto, Canada. These shows offered a front‑row seat to the challenges and innovations shaping the future of mining, while giving us the opportunity to share how rugged devices, advanced GNSS positioning, and modern data collection tools support safer, more efficient work in the field.

MINExchange brought together a great mix of field workers and decision‑makers, leading to engaging conversations. Our partners, Carlson and Frontier Precision, were also in attendance, helping strengthen relationships and spark discussions around integrated workflows and customizable workflows for mining operations.

We saw strong interest in Geode™ GNSS Receiver, Archer® 4 Handheld, Mesa® 4 Rugged Tablet, and Mesa Pro Rugged Tablet, with many attendees eager to learn how rugged Android handhelds and touchscreen tablets can simplify data capture at the mine site. These solutions continue to stand out as some of the best data collection tools for teams working in demanding environments.

That momentum carried straight into PDAC, one of the world’s largest and most influential mining and mineral exploration conferences. Our partners, IMDEX and Orica, were in attendance, providing insight and data collection tools within the mining industry. With thousands of people moving through the exhibit hall, we connected with a wide range of professionals, including prospectors, geologists, exploration teams, software companies, and mining technology providers.

At PDAC, interest centered on Mesa 4, Mesa 3 Rugged Tablet, and GNSS solutions paired with Archer 4, reinforcing the growing demand for RTK mapping. These conversations highlighted the need for a rugged data device that delivers consistent performance in challenging conditions.

Juniper’s Rugged Mining Technology: Improving Safety, Mapping, and Efficiency

Modern mining operations rely on accurate field data and dependable technology. Rugged solutions like Mesa Rugged Tablets, Archer 4, Geode, and Uinta™ Mapping Software give mining teams powerful data collection tools designed to streamline workflows, enhance safety, and support smarter decision‑making in harsh environments.

Streamlined Data Collection and Communication

Mesa Rugged Tablets and the Archer 4 Handheld enable mining crews to capture geological data, inspections, ore metrics, and environmental information directly at the mine site. Built as dustproof, shockproof, and resistant to moisture and extreme temperatures, these rugged tabletsand handhelds are purpose‑built for the realities of mining work.

Beyond data capture, these devices also improve site‑wide communication and safety. With real‑time wireless connectivity, teams can instantly share photos, videos, and updates, helping supervisors and field workers coordinate operations more effectively. Integrated sensors and software support monitoring of equipment health, environmental conditions, and site safety metrics.

Accurate GPS Mapping with the Geode GNSS Receiver and Uinta Mapping Software

The Geode and Spire™ GNSS Receivers deliver high‑accuracy GNSS positioning for mine site mapping, fleet tracking, grade control, and stockpile measurement. Support for reliable mappinghelps operators improve drilling accuracy, optimize haul routes, and monitor geotechnical changes such as slope stability or ground movement.

Paired with Uinta Mapping Software, these receivers bring field data together through customizable workflows for geological mapping, pit design, operational tracking, and environmental reporting, turning raw data into actionable insights.

Rugged Technology for Every Stage of Mining

From early exploration to reclamation, Juniper Systems’ rugged hardware and mapping solutions help mining teams improve productivity, safety, and data accuracy across the entire mining lifecycle. Built to perform in the toughest conditions, this technology proves its value every day in the field — truly worth its weight in gold.
