CAC/PIV Smart Card Reader
The Mesa 3 Smart Card Reader offers a compact integrated design that allows the device to be used in-hand all day. This was done by integrating the design of the Smart Card Reader into the existing design of the Mesa 3. The Smart Card Reader seamlessly integrates into the bottom portion of the Mesa 3 using the same mounting points as the Mesa’s corner bumpers. The charging, USB, and headphone ports of the Mesa 3 have been relocated to the bottom of the Smart Card Reader for easy access.
Common smart card authentication standards have been built into the Mesa 3 Smart Card Reader offering flexibility to organizations with existing software and employee-issued smart cards. Once an image of an organization’s existing OS or software program requiring smart card authentication has been installed on the Mesa 3 Smart Card Reader, the proper authentication measures are required to access the device or programs on the device.

Accessories for the Mesa 3, including the Mesa 2/3 Keyboard, M2/3 dock, hand strap, and carrying options still work with the Mesa 3 Smart Card Reader. Some mounting accessories are not compatible.
